Confident Driver: Must have a reliable vehicle and be a confident driver. A full driving licence is advantageous.

Job Description

This role involves supporting a sociable lady with Down Syndrome. The support worker will assist her with daily activities and facilitate her participation in social, recreational and occupational activities.

Responsibilities include:

• Assisting in transportation to and from activities such as swimming, aqua aerobics, gym, bowling, cinema, etc.
• Providing support to access and enjoy meals out, listening to music and other socialised events.
• Managing the workload efficiently, organising schedules and ensuring safety.

Training will be provided by the employer. Candidate must be able to navigate herself but may need assistance entering and exiting vehicles.

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum 6 months’ care experience.
• Attentive, organised, and able to manage own workload.
• Confident driver with reliable vehicle; full driving licence a plus.
• Successful reference and PVG checks required.
• Probationary period: 6 months; either party may terminate with one week notice.

Two up-to-date reference contacts required, one from a current/previous employer. A new PVG enhanced disclosure will be required prior to appointment (disclosure cost to be met by employer).
