Job description

We're looking for three exam invigilators to join our friendly team in the running of all public and internal examinations at the Co-op Academy Swinton throughout the academic year. This is a casual contract and working hours will be negotiated for each exam period.

To be successful in this role you will have good attention to detail, be flexible and an excellent time keeper.

Experience is not necessary as full training will be provided.

Applicants should be computer literate.

Applicants should be available during November, January, February, March, May and June on an ad hoc basis.

The role of an Invigilator is key to ensuring Co-op Academy Swinton examinations are managed efficiently and effectively, in line with procedures and processes

Tasks include preparing exam rooms, distributing papers and stationary, advising candidates of exam conditions, observing students during the exam and ensuring that all regulatory requirements are adhered to.

After the exam you are responsible for collecting exam materials and leaving exam rooms tidy.

This role would suit someone who is confident, flexible and adaptable and is available during the exam series.

Why us?

At Co-op Academy Swinton, We have an established culture in which openness and fairness is encouraged. Students, teachers and the wider community work together in a professional and efficient environment. Caring for others is promoted at Co-op Academy Swinton, where we understand that everyone is valued.

We aim for high achievement in an environment which is based on rewards, not sanctions. We share the common values of ‘respect’ and ‘honesty’.

All our values are based upon the values of the Co-op Group, which will inform our behaviours.

Self-help : We do not expect to be spoon fed – we will try to do things for ourselves in the right way and at the right time.

Self-responsibility : Everyone should act in a responsible way around the academy site and in the local community. We take responsibility for our own learning; we want to become independent learners.

Equality : We are proud to be part of a very multicultural academy, with students from all over the world; it is important that we treat each other with respect and accept that others may be different from ourselves. We should all of us have equal chances to succeed.

Equity : We want to look for the best in each other. Rewarding others fairly to encourage all types of achievement.

Democracy : We will contribute our ideas to make the academy a success.

Solidarity : We can achieve more by working together, rather than as individuals.

Our Values

Being part of the Co-operative Group, we are both guided and driven by the Co-op values which are embedded in everything that we do within our Academy - We strive to demonstrate the following ethical values in everything we do - they are our ‘Ways of Being’ :

Succeed together

Do what matters most

Be yourself, always

Show you care

So, if you believe in our values, we would love to hear from you!

This post is exempt under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the amendments to the Exceptions Order 1975, 2013 and 2020.
