Candidate required : Quantity SurveyorJob Type : PermanentStart date : ASAPIndustry : Construction Professionals SouthLocation : Paddock Wood, KentThe role & about the client : ITS Building People are recruiting on behalf of a well-established main contractor for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team based in Paddock Wood, Kent. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on major construction projects valued between £10M and £20M, involving both new build and refurbishment works across education, commercial, and light industrial sectors.The successful candidate will play a key role in driving project performance, ensuring commercial control and contract compliance from procurement through to final accounts.Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to :

  • Managing all commercial aspects of large-scale projects.
  • Preparing tender documentation and assessing subcontractor packages.
  • Monitoring budgets and delivering accurate cost forecasting.
  • Identifying commercial risks and implementing mitigation strategies.
  • Working closely with site teams, consultants, and clients to maintain project control.
  • Managing variations, interim valuations, and final accounts.
  • Supporting procurement and supply chain management.The ideal candidate will have / be :
  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor on £10M–£20M projects.
  • A strong background across both new build and refurbishment schemes.
  • Sector experience in schools, commercial buildings, and light industrial units.
  • Knowledge of standard forms of contract, particularly JCT and NEC.
  • Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills.
