Residential Childcare Support Worker

Location : Various settings across (East and South Durham)
Hours : Zero hours (flexible, agency-based shifts)
Pay : £13 + sleep-in enhancements

As an agency worker, you will :
Work across a variety of residential care settings, supporting young people with complex needs and behaviours. Your role will be to provide consistent, high-quality care on a flexible, ad-hoc basis, depending on service needs and your availability.
Key responsibilities include :
Supporting young people in line with their individual care plans
Promoting independence and encouraging positive outcomes
Assisting with personal care, medication, meal preparation, and daily routines
Managing challenging behaviour and ensuring safety through risk management
Engaging in activities and appointments with the young person
Writing reports, completing incident forms, and maintaining accurate records
Communicating with families, professionals, and external agencies
Adhering to safeguarding protocols, GDPR, OFSTED and CQC regulations
What were looking for :
Experience in a care or support setting (professional or lived experience considered)
Resilient, calm under pressure, and able to adapt to different environments
Confident working with challenging behaviours
Ability to build trusting relationships with young people
Flexible, reliable, and committed to delivering excellent care
Willingness to undertake relevant training
Requirements :
Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or willing to work towards)
Full UK manual driving licence (essential)
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
First Aid qualification desirable (can be provided)
