Overview
Enterprise Architect with a strong focus on Applications to join a well-established organisation undergoing large-scale digital transformation. This hybrid role (2 days in) in London requires you to be an excellent communicator with gravitas. Your stakeholders will include senior leadership and external providers. You will lead the development of the organisation's application architecture, roadmaps, and standards.
As the Enterprise Architect for Applications, you will design the future state of the application estate, guiding the organisation as it transitions from legacy systems to modern, service-oriented architectures. You will provide architectural guardrails for solution delivery teams, mentor architects and technical leads, and work with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment between business strategy and application design. Although this is a true EA role, there may be times where you undertake some SA tasks given the company size.
Responsibilities
- Defining and leading the Enterprise Application Strategy, architecture, and roadmaps
- Develop and maintain conceptual and logical application landscapes aligned with business and technical requirements
- Create and maintain architecture principles, standards, and governance practices
- Support the secure, scalable delivery of cloud and on-prem applications (Oracle, Microsoft, Salesforce, MuleSoft)
- Guide and mentor solution and technical architects to ensure high standards of application design
- Collaborate with teams across digital, data, CRM, finance, and HR systems
- Participate in architecture governance groups and project boards
- Promote continuous improvement of application platforms and tooling
- Monitor technology trends and recommend relevant innovations
- Support the development of business cases for future application investments
Qualifications
Strong experience as an Enterprise Architect with a focus on applicationsTrack record of delivering application strategy in large-scale transformation programmesExperience migrating from legacy to modern, service-based architectures (e.g. microservices)Knowledge of architecture modelling tools and frameworks (e.g. UML, ArchiMate, Bizz design)Familiarity with data structure concepts and relational databases (SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL)Broad understanding of enterprise systems (CRM, Finance, HR, integration platforms)Strong communication and stakeholder management skillsExperience with architecture assurance, governance, and version-controlled repositoriesStrategic mindset with a hands-on approach to delivery and mentoringIf you are an Enterprise Architect looking to work on major transformation in a business that is collaborative by nature and where you are truly valued as an individual, this is a role worth considering.
