Principal Electrical / EICA Engineer - Water Sector

Overview

Principal Electrical / EICA Engineer - Water Sector at Stantec. We are seeking Principal Electrical Engineers to join our team in the South West and Midlands. This role can be based out of Exeter, Bristol or Cardiff in the South West or Birmingham, Derby or Redditch in the Midlands, where you will grow our reputation within the local community and Water Business by providing EICA design services for a range of projects. As an experienced EICA Engineer, you will work in multidisciplinary teams and liaise with Project Managers, Design Managers and Design Engineers as well as clients, supply chain partners, contractors and other stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes for the projects and community. You will be involved in projects from optioneering and concept design through to outline and detailed design as well as feasibility studies, site surveys and site investigations.

Responsibilities

• Lead EICA design projects for water sector clients, delivering electrical, instrumentation, control and automation (EICA) design solutions.
• Prepare technical specifications, control philosophies, EICA schedules and drawings; contribute to multidisciplinary outputs such as General Arrangement Drawings, 3D models and P&IDs.
• Produce Single Line Diagrams, Block Cable Diagrams, Network Infrastructure Diagrams; provide input to other engineering disciplines to enable multidisciplinary outputs.
• Understand DSEAR requirements related to EICA design and installation (advantage).
• Communicate effectively with clients and team members, delivering technical presentations and contributing to design workshops, HAZOPs and ALMs.
• Lead and mentor junior engineers.
• Experience in the Water sector is advantageous; candidates from energy, infrastructure or environmental sectors may also be considered.
