Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

Location : Congleton, Cheshire

Salary : £21.01 per hour

Job type : Full time, Permanent

Working Hours : 40 hours per week, working 4 days out of 5 (Mon‑Fri, either 6am‑4pm or 8am‑6pm)

Fine Decor Wallcoverings Ltd is a leading Wallcoverings and Décor products supplier based in Congleton, Cheshire. We are recruiting for a Maintenance Engineer with a mechanical bias.

Key Responsibilities

Reactive and planned maintenance
Mechanical and electrical fault finding
Working with newly planned maintenance schedules
Helping towards increased efficiencies within the plant
Maintaining records
Ensuring the business complies with current legislation
Emergency plant repairs when necessary

About You

HNC or equivalent in mechanical or electrical engineering

Mechanical knowledge including pneumatics, diaphragm pumps, mechanical drives (chains, sprockets, gears, gearboxes, drive belts)

Production line servicing

Excellent fault finding skills

Good understanding of health & safety procedures

Good communication, organisational & planning skills

Ability to work on your own and within a team

Strong team‑work ethic

Ability to work under your own initiative and under pressure

Positive attitude and willingness to learn

Experience within a factory environment

Other Desirable Skills

PLC knowledge

Knowledge of printing and printing machinery
