Overview

A leading global supplier within the chemical and additives industry is seeking a Chemical Technician to join their well-established analytical team, based at their EMEAI headquarters in Berkshire. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to contribute to a dynamic, quality-controlled laboratory environment that supports innovative research and development programmes.

Working within a collaborative team, the successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality analytical testing services using both core and industry-specific methods.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate in compliance with all health, safety and environmental regulations, championing safe working practices at all times.
  • Conduct accurate laboratory testing using established methods and standard operating procedures.
  • Perform and interpret a variety of tests, including but not limited to Elemental Analysis, Acid, Base and Water Titrations, Density and Viscosity Measurements, Particle Counting, Flash Point Testing
  • Prioritise and manage multiple test workflows concurrently.
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with quality management systems, including adherence to ISO procedures and documentation requirements.
  • Effectively communicate test results to internal stakeholders.
  • Support equipment maintenance through routine calibration, basic troubleshooting, and documentation.
  • Maintain an organised, clean and safe working environment.
  • Proactively participate in training and development to maintain technical competencies.

Candidate Profile

  • A higher education qualification in Chemistry (or a related scientific discipline), or equivalent industry experience.
  • A proactive approach to health and safety.
  • Strong team-working and interpersonal skills.
  • Effective communicator with a problem-solving mindset.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
  • Previous experience working in a laboratory environment, ideally within automotive, fuel, or lubricant testing sectors.
  • Familiarity with the techniques and tests outlined above.
