Temporary Senior Health Care Assistant (Minimum 6 weeks)

Location : Cramlington

Job Type : Temporary Full-time

Salary : £14.00 per hour

Contract Duration : Minimum 6 weeks (Possible Temp to Perm)

About the Role :

We are currently seeking a compassionate, experienced, and dedicated Senior Health Care Assistant to join our team on a temporary basis . This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong leadership skills and hands-on care experience to make a real impact in a supportive and well-established care environment.

As a Senior Health Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality, person-centred care to our residents or patients, while supporting and mentoring junior care staff.

Key Responsibilities :

Provide high standards of personal and emotional care to service users

Assist with daily living activities including bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility

Support the nursing team in monitoring and recording observations

Administer medication (if trained and required)

Act as a point of contact for staff, residents, and families

Supervise and mentor junior care assistants, ensuring care standards are met

Maintain accurate care records and documentation

Ensure compliance with health and safety and safeguarding policies

Requirements :

Proven experience as a Health Care Assistant (minimum 2 years preferred)

Previous experience in a senior or supervisory role within a care setting

NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent)

Medication administration training (preferred)

Strong communication and leadership skills

Empathetic, patient, and reliable

Able to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays if required
