HGV Technician / Truck Technician / Commercial Vehicle Technician (Reading)

Location : Reading

Salary : OTE up to £48,672 per annum plus overtime at 1.5x

Hours : 4 on 4 off - 06 : 00 to 18 : 00. Overtime opportunities available

The Role

We are seeking an experienced HGV Technician / Truck Technician / Commercial Vehicle Technician to join a busy fleet workshop in Reading. You will carry out inspections, maintenance, and repairs to keep heavy goods vehicles, trailers, and commercial vehicles safe, compliant, and on the road. Key Responsibilities

Perform major and minor repairs on HGVs, trailers, and commercial vehicles

Carry out regular inspections and preventive maintenance

Diagnose faults and assist with repair planning alongside the team

Maintain accurate workshop records and complete relevant documentation

Provide emergency roadside repair support when required

Maintain a safe, clean, and compliant working environment

Skills and Qualifications

Essential

Level 3 qualification in HGV Vehicle Repair and Maintenance (NVQ, City & Guilds, or IMI)

Experience performing diagnostic and service repairs on HGVs

Ability to identify worn or faulty components in line with DVSA standards

Full UK driving licence for relevant vehicle classes
