An outstanding secondary school in Bath is seeking an ambitious and skilled Lead Teacher of Design & Technology to join its successful DT department from April 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced DT specialist to take on a key leadership role within a high-performing school known for academic excellence strong behaviour and supportive leadership.

Design & Technology is a valued and well-supported subject within the school with strong uptake at KS4 and a clear focus on creativity innovation and practical skill development.

The Role

• Teaching Design & Technology across KS3 and KS4 with KS5 depending on specialism

• Leading on teaching and learning within the DT department

• Driving high standards in coursework NEA and project-based learning

• Supporting curriculum development and assessment strategies

• Maintaining high standards of health and safety across workshops

• Coaching and mentoring colleagues to ensure consistent high-quality practice

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

• A degree in Design & Technology or a closely related subject

• Proven experience teaching DT at secondary level

• A strong track record of excellent pupil outcomes

• Experience leading initiatives or contributing to departmental improvement

• High expectations for pupil engagement behaviour and achievement
