Job summary

As a Consultant Psychiatrist, you will be responsible forconducting face-to-face assessments of individuals presenting with ADHD andAutism. You will play a pivotal role in diagnosing these conditions, developingtailored treatment plans, and providing ongoing support to patients and theirfamilies.

Job description

Job responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive face-to-face assessments for ADHDand Autism in adults and children.
  • Utilise standardised diagnostic tools and clinicalinterviews to evaluate patients.
  • Provide clear, evidence-based diagnoses and communicatethem effectively to patients and their families.
  • Develop and implement individualised treatment plans incollaboration with a multidisciplinary team.
  • Offer follow-up consultations and ongoing support tomonitor patient progress.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records inaccordance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in team meetings, case discussions, andcontinuous professional development activities.
  • Stay informed about the latest research andadvancements in ADHD and Autism care.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

  • Medical degree with full GMC registration
  • CCT in Psychiatry, with a special interest or experience in ADHD and Autism
  • Proven experience in diagnosing and managing ADHD and Autism in a clinical setting
  • Desirable

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage a diverse caseload
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Commitment to patient-centred care and evidence-based practice
