The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in logistics, supply chain management, and customer relationships.
This role is crucial for ensuring efficient management of the O Licence and maintenance of the fleet (approximately 10 vehicles), as well as organising jobs and dealing with key suppliers.
Responsibilities Oversee daily transport operations, hands on as well as at the desk Work with warehouse manager to ensure inventory control processes to maintain optimal stock levels and accuracy.
Coordinate transportation planning and logistics to ensure timely shipping and receiving of goods.
Utilise transportation management systems (TMS) and warehouse management systems (WMS) for effective operations, such as Vigo.
Collaborate with supply chain management teams to align demand planning with production planning.
Monitor performance metrics related to order fulfilment, dispatching, and freight management.
Qualifications Proven experience as a Transport Manager or in a similar supervisory role within logistics or supply chain environments.
Strong knowledge of inventory management, shipping, and receiving processes.
Experience in demand planning and continuous improvement initiatives.
Proficient in using transportation management systems (TMS) for effective logistics coordination.
Forklift certification is required; experience with fleet management is a plus.
