Our client, a well known practice in Central London are seeking to recruit a Private Client Partner to join their successful team. This is a unique opportunity for a senior private client lawyer to drive the continued growth and excellence of their highly regarded private client services, working alongside an impressive team dedicated to providing first-class advice and support to a broad portfolio of high-net-worth individuals, families, and business owners.

Key Responsibilities within Private Client Law and Estate Planning

  • Acting as a trusted adviser to clients on all aspects of private client law, including wills, trusts, tax, estate planning, probate and powers of attorney.
  • Managing a diverse personal caseload of complex and high value estates, including cross-border matters and family wealth structures.
  • Leading, mentoring and supporting junior solicitors and paralegals within the private client team, fostering professional development, knowledge sharing and a collaborative firm culture.
  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients, ensuring exceptional standards of service and care at every stage.
  • Identifying opportunities for departmental growth through relationship building, networking, and business development initiatives.
  • Overseeing compliance, risk management, and regulatory requirements across all private client work.
  • Collaborating with colleagues across other practice areas including property, litigation, and company law as required.

Essential Experience & Skills for a Private Client Partner Role

  • Minimum 5 years post-qualification experience in private client law, advising on all aspects of estate and succession planning.
  • Proven background in winning and managing client relationships at partner or senior associate level, preferably within a respected private client team.
  • Outstanding communication, negotiation, and advisory skills, with the ability to build trust and empathy with clients from all backgrounds.
  • Demonstrable expertise in complex probate and trust administration, tax mitigation strategies, Court of Protection, and asset preservation.
  • Adept at developing, motivating, and leading teams in delivering excellence in client service.
  • Strong organisational abilities, commercial acumen, and a proactive, collaborative approach to practice growth.
  • Full STEP membership or progress towards qualification is highly desirable.
  • Strong IT and case management skills, with an adaptable approach to modern legal practice.
