Overview

Band 8a Clinical or Counselling Psychologist – opportunity with Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (SABP) working within Surrey Heath Community Mental Health Recovery Service (CMHRS). The post offers a diverse range of experience with people with complex mental health difficulties. You will join a friendly and supportive group of psychologists in the locality and there are opportunities to develop knowledge and skills through CPD.

The trust values psychology, psychotherapy and the arts psychotherapies, and provides opportunities to train in CBT for psychosis, family interventions, CBT for personality disorders, compassion-focused supervision, EMDR and structured clinical management. Employees can access leadership and management development, coaching and mentoring specific to psychologists and additional supervisor training.

As a Trust we pride ourselves on an innovative and collaborative approach to providing high quality, person-centred care. We have comprehensive primary care personality disorder services and established primary care MH teams working alongside GP practices. We are developing integrated care pathways across primary and secondary care.

Responsibilities

  • To assess, plan, implement and evaluate the psychological needs of people using our services.
  • To mentor, supervise and teach qualified and unqualified staff including students.
  • Promoting a psychological perspective within teams and sharing with other colleagues.
  • Work collaboratively with team managers / Clinical leads in the development and delivery of effective services.
  • The postholder will be expected to work flexibly within the service.
  • To lead on complex and challenging cases and develop expertise within area of specialism.
  • Participating in the recruitment and selection of staff.
  • Leading on a specific service development projects.
