About The Role
Are you passionate about the environment and want to work with others to make a difference? We are looking for a Catchment Partnerships Advisor for our Environment & Sustainability team, helping us develop and deliver an integrated catchment approach to meet regulatory obligations under the Water Industry National Environment Programme (WINEP) and commitments in the NWG Environment Strategy.
This role will support our work with catchment partners, ensuring we work in partnership to deliver actions to enhance catchments and the water environment and improve ecological status. Key responsibilities include helping the company engage effectively with catchment partnerships, supporting the delivery of catchment improvement schemes with partners, and supporting integrated catchment planning.
Your work will be office based but will require travel around the North East region, attending Catchment Partnership meetings and representing the company, undertaking field visits, and building relationships with catchment partners and key catchment stakeholders to develop our approach to working effectively in partnership. Although based in the North East, your role will support our companywide activities for both Northumbrian Water and Essex & Suffolk Water, with cross company online meetings, and occasional travel to Essex or Suffolk. You will be directed by our Catchment Partnerships Lead, Strategic and Integrated Catchment Managers, and supported by wider environmental experts in Environment & Sustainability.
About You
If you have an interest in environmental partnerships and catchment challenges, and are keen to improve the environment with others, we want to hear from you. You will attend meetings and workshops and represent the company, so you need to enjoy interacting with people and be able to empathise and communicate well with partners. You should be proactive in managing your own workload. The role involves travelling around our Northumbrian Water operating area, so you’ll need a full driving licence. You should be IT literate and familiar with Microsoft Office packages, as reporting and written communication will be part of this role.
