We are currently recruiting an experienced and passionate Registered Manager – Children’s Residential Home to lead the launch and ongoing management of a brand-new 3-bed service in Walsall. This is an exciting opportunity for a Registered Manager – Children’s Residential Home (or a strong Deputy ready for registration) to shape a high-quality service from the ground up.
As Registered Manager – Children’s Residential Home, you will play a key role in embedding a child-centred culture, ensuring regulatory compliance, and delivering outstanding outcomes for children and young people. Full support will be provided throughout the Ofsted registration process by a supportive and experienced senior leadership team. There is also clear progression available, including potential dual registration for the right Registered Manager – Children’s Residential Home.
Key Responsibilities – Registered Manager – Children’s Residential Home
Lead the setup, Ofsted registration, and opening of a new children’s residential home
Provide strong leadership through recruitment, training, supervision, and development of staff
Ensure full compliance with Ofsted standards and the Children’s Homes Regulations (2015)
Take overall responsibility for safeguarding, Regulation 44 and 45, and quality assurance
Create a safe, nurturing, and therapeutic environment for children
Manage budgets, resources, and occupancy levels effectively
Build strong relationships with local authorities, professionals, and families
Requirements – Registered Manager – Children’s Residential Home
Proven leadership experience in a children’s residential care setting
Strong working knowledge of Ofsted and safeguarding requirements
Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills
Ability to manage complex situations with resilience and empathy
NVQ Level 5 in Leadership & Management (or working towards) – desirable
