Capstan Setter

We are looking for a skilled and reliable Capstan Setter Operator to join our Client specialising in the fasteners industry. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with hands-on experience in capstan lathes, looking to work in a well-established and supportive manufacturing environment.

As a Capstan Setter Operator, you will be responsible for setting up and operating capstan lathes to produce high-quality components to tight tolerances. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude and a keen eye for detail.

Key Responsibilities :

Setting and operating capstan lathes to produce precision components

Reading and interpreting technical engineering drawings

Performing tool changes, adjustments, and routine machine maintenance

Monitoring production for quality, accuracy, and efficiency

Conducting in-process inspections using standard measuring equipment

Maintaining a clean and safe working environment

Requirements :

Proven experience in a Capstan Setter / Operator role

Ability to read and understand engineering drawings

Strong understanding of machining principles and quality standards

Competent with measuring tools such as micrometres, callipers, and gauges

Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently or as part of a team

Good time management and attention to detail
