Job description

Qualified Electrician - Renewable Energy / Solar PV (Reading)

The Role :

You will play a key part in delivering renewable energy solutions, including solar PV systems, working across domestic and / or commercial sites in and arround Reading.

Key responsibilities :

  • Install, test, and commission solar PV systems
  • Work confidently with AC / DC circuits, inverters, isolators, and remote monitoring systems
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings
  • Diagnose faults and perform repairs or maintenance as needed
  • Ensure compliance with UK building regs and DNO (Distribution Network Operator) requirements
  • Adhere to all Health & Safety regulations, risk assessments, and RAMS
  • Report any unsafe appliances, installations, or practices
  • Operate tools and equipment safely and correctly
  • Travel regionally (or nationally if required)
  • Work occasional overtime or weekends when necessary

    • Requirements :

  • Completed a recognised electrical apprenticeship or hold appropriate full electrical qualifications ( Essential )
  • 18th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations qualification ( Essential )
  • ECS Gold Card ( Essential )
  • Full UK driving licence with no more than 6 points
