Clinical Pharmacist – GP Practice (South Coast)
Location : Bognor Regis
Salary : BAND 8A - Up to £60,000
Hours : Full-time / Part-time options available
About the Role
We’re looking for an enthusiastic and proactive Clinical Pharmacist to join a friendly, forward-thinking GP practice on the beautiful South Coast. You’ll work closely with GPs, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimise patient medicines, provide structured medication reviews, and support safe, evidence-based prescribing.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Care
- Conduct structured medication reviews, particularly for patients with long-term conditions or polypharmacy.
- Support safe and effective prescribing, including monitoring high-risk medicines and managing repeat prescriptions.
- Provide patient consultations (face-to-face, telephone, or video).
- Promote deprescribing and reduce medication-related harm where appropriate.
Independent Prescribing (if qualified)
Prescribe within your competence.Manage minor conditions or chronic disease reviews under agreed protocols.Medicines Optimisation & Practice Support
Lead audits, QOF, IIF, and local prescribing incentive schemes.Collaborate with community pharmacies, care homes, and NHS teams.Advise on cost-effective prescribing in line with local guidance.Education & Development
Provide training or updates for practice staff.Mentor pharmacy technicians, if appropriate.Keep up to date with clinical guidance and professional development opportunities.Essential
GPhC-registered pharmacistStrong clinical knowledge and patient-focused communicationExperience in primary care, hospital, or community pharmacyCommitment to CPD and evidence-based practiceCompletion of the CPPE Primary Care Pharmacy Education PathwayDesirable
Independent Prescribing qualificationExperience with SystmOne and e-prescribing toolsFamiliarity with QOF, IIF, or other NHS frameworksStart Date : ASAP
