We are seeking to appoint an ambitious and inspiring Head of Geography with a passion for the subject to lead our thriving department. The successful candidate will combine excellent leadership and management skills with deep subject knowledge, excellent teaching and learning knowledge across KS3, KS4, and KS5. You will be committed to fostering a love of Geography and promote opportunities for students to broaden their understanding through fieldwork and enrichment experiences. We would also welcome applications from candidates interested in a part-time role (0.8 FTE).

Responsibilities

• Lead and inspire the Geography department, setting high expectations and driving a culture of continuous improvement.
• Combine leadership and management skills with deep subject knowledge and excellent teaching and learning across KS3, KS4, and KS5.
• Foster a love of Geography and promote opportunities for fieldwork and enrichment experiences.
• Lead curriculum development, teaching, assessment, and fieldwork opportunities with best-practice approaches.
• Translate current research-informed practice into outstanding classroom teaching.
• Develop engaging learning experiences that nurture curiosity and lasting enthusiasm for Geography.
• Model professional integrity, resilience, and strong organisational skills.
• Collaborate with the wider school community and support whole-school priorities.
• Commit to ongoing professional growth with aspirations for further leadership development.
• Commitment to living out our Christian values in every aspect of school life.
