Job description

Are you an experienced leader in social care with the vision and drive to make a lasting difference? We’re looking for a Service Manager to lead one of our residential services for older people, ensuring the highest standards of care while supporting and inspiring your team.

In this role, you’ll manage the day-to-day running of the service, oversee staff and budgets, and make sure quality standards are not only met but exceeded. You’ll also contribute to CrossReach’s wider strategic direction, develop partnerships with other agencies, and identify opportunities for new service developments within your locality.

What you’ll be doing

  • Leading and developing a residential service for older people
  • Establishing and maintaining high quality standards of care
  • Managing staff recruitment, supervision and development
  • Overseeing budgets and ensuring financial sustainability
  • Ensuring compliance with policies, procedures and regulatory requirements
  • Working in partnership with families, communities and outside agencies
  • Contributing to service development and CrossReach’s wider strategy

What we’re looking for

You’ll bring proven experience of managing in social care, along with an SVQ Level 4 in Social Care and a recognised management qualification, or be working towards one. Strong leadership skills, financial acumen, and the ability to build trusted relationships are essential. You’ll also have basic IT skills and be comfortable using Microsoft Office.

As we do our work in Christ’s name the job you have applied for requires you to have a Christian faith and be able to work within and uphold our Christian Ethos. This is an Occupational Requirement under Part 1 of Schedule 9 to the Equality Act 2010.

This post requires you to be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme and undertake the necessary vetting checks. You will also be required to be registered with SSSC and it is your professional responsibility to ensure that you meet the standards and criteria for registration.
