Overview
RWE Supply & Trading is offering a Power Transmission Placement Programme in the UK. Location options include City of London, London or Swindon. Start Date : July 2026. Starting Salary : £27,100 p.a. (Swindon); £31,150 p.a. (London).
From here, you’ll have a community of support. This year-long industrial placement gives you the chance to gain valuable work experience and skills, with potential to secure a place on a graduate programme. You’ll contribute to real projects from day one and receive on-the-job training and development opportunities, including an allocated Buddy to assist onboarding.
Choose Power Transmission
Our Transmission team works across Europe to ensure generation and storage projects have optimal grid connections. You will gain experience with the grid connection procedure, the regulatory environment, and the evaluation of commercial and operational risks. You will contribute to the development of power flow and congestion models, support external stakeholder meetings (e.g., with Transmission Operators), review UK transmission policy changes, help identify optimal connection points for current and future renewable generation projects, and assist in commercial risk assessments of grid-related policies and constraints.
Job Requirements and Experiences
We’re looking for students who are in the penultimate year of an electrical, power or renewable energy engineering degree or similar. If your studies include energy policy or economics, that would be an added bonus. Applicants should ideally be on track to achieve a 2 : 1 or higher. What you must have is :
