Job description

Overview

Pennington Choices is expanding, and with our ambitious growth plans, we are looking for the very best talent to join us. We need people who can think differently about how to solve problems. We are currently recruiting a Scheduler to join our Planning, Scheduling & Dispatch (PS&D) department.

As a Scheduler, your role is to support the planning, scheduling, and deployment of our Asbestos field-based operations. You will follow the appropriate processes to ensure that field-based surveyors have booked as many work orders as is practical – both in respect of client / contract response times and quality (sufficient time is allowed for works order completion). Our field-based operatives work nationwide for a variety of clients, including directly employed operatives and subcontracted associates. Schedulers within the Asbestos Scheduling team will book as many appointments as possible to support the delivery of efficient asbestos surveying and analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Implement the Asbestos scheduling processes to effectively deploy field-based operations in the most efficient way.
  • Ensure sufficient appointments are booked on a contract-by-contract basis to fulfil requirements and drive operational and commercial performance.
  • Deploy resources and handle inbound and outbound telephony demand; accurately import client information.
  • Collaborate with the Scheduling Team Leader, Contract Coordinators, other Schedulers, Field-based Operatives and Operations Leaders to build rapport and trust.
  • Manage tenant enquiries in a friendly and helpful manner; confidence with telephony and operating works management systems is vital.
  • Schedule planned appointments for Asbestos field-based operatives using multiple works management systems.
  • Upload projects to the online booking platform; retrieve booked appointments and enter onto the operating platform.
  • Mail merge letters for tenants; bulk text messaging; record points of contact on the operating platform.
  • Handle and resolve telephone and email enquiries from tenants; make proactive outbound calls to arrange appointments.
  • Share ideas to continually improve scheduling, including increasing appointments made, appointments kept, and properties accessed.

Team Targets

  • Improve productivity by ensuring surveyors are fully booked each day.
  • Fulfilling the percentage of work orders (appointments made, access, and completion).
  • Role Requirements / Experience

There are no mandatory qualifications required for this role. Relevant competencies and personality attributes are important. This role may suit someone with experience in a deployment and scheduling role (not sector / market specific). We seek outgoing and friendly individuals who can communicate effectively and build rapport.

    Benefits

  • Competitive salary and transparent salary bands
  • Commitment to super flexible and remote hybrid working where applicable
  • 37.5-hour working week
  • 26 days annual leave plus 8 Bank Holidays (pro rata); additional leave for length of service up to 31 days
  • Opportunity to buy additional annual leave or sell surplus leave
  • Enhanced employer pension contributions of 4% when you contribute 6%
  • Enhanced maternity and paternity pay
  • Regular Learning and Development opportunities
  • Regular company social events including an annual summer BBQ
  • Cycle to work scheme with savings on a new bike and cycle safety accessories
  • Electric Car salary sacrifice scheme (subject to eligibility)
  • Employee discounts on hundreds of high street brands
  • Private healthcare, Employee Assistance Programme, and Wellness programmes including annual flu jab
  • Paid sick leave allowance; free eye tests and contribution towards glasses / frames
  • Referral programme offering up to £2,000
  • Option for personal use of company vehicle (subject to eligibility)
  • Paid volunteering days for local charities / initiatives
  • Length of service rewards
  • Welcome goodie bag
