Job Description
We’re recruiting for a seasoned DevOps Engineer who will use their software engineering skills and experience to provide and support capabilities focused on the supportability the developer experience for teams working across Mainframe, Azure and AWS platforms. The role ensures both engineering and operationally focused teams work seamlessly as one combined end-to-end engineering team. The role requires an ability to work with a diverse range of internal and external technical and engineering teams, to ensure a highly reliable, automated engineering & operational capability existsWhat you'll be doing :
- Building clean, maintainable features and resolve end-to-end issues with an understanding of different possible approaches, to ensure that we are delivering great outcomes to our customers as effectively as we can. Ensure that the solutions developed and deployed are fit for purpose, provide appropriate business value, adhere to quality standards and align to standard engineering practices.
- Understanding and contributing to the strategy for the management of technical debt within the team to ensure that Legal & General’s systems are secure, resilient and reliable.
- Analysing and defining test approaches and strategies within your team so that the customer experience is of the highest quality – with an emphasis security, usability and accessibility.
- Conducting and participating in code reviews with an emphasis on both functional and non-functional requirements, considering, performance, resiliency, maintainability and security, to ensure that we build consistently high-quality software for our customers.
- Resolving issues, defects and queries raised at any phase of development or production in a timely and professional manner.
- Providing sizing on technical development tasks. Report progress regularly, escalating matters as appropriate. An active member of the agile team, contributing to the typical agile ceremonies.
- Enthusiastically promoting inspection and adaptation to improve team effectiveness & happiness, supporting changes to enhance processes and culture, to ensure that the team stays happy, productive, efficient.
- Undertaking continuous research on relevant application technologies and identifying and implementing opportunities to incorporate those into the application as appropriate. Share your research and learning in developer forums.
QualificationsWho we're looking for :
Mainframe SCM tools like, Broadcom Endevor / Changeman / BMC-ISPWJavaScript, JCL, REXXScrum ways of workingGit / Git Flow, GitHub ActionsTerraform or CloudFormationExperience in DevOps automation and integrationExperience in Zos and Linux operating systemExperience in Mainframe configuration and infrastructureStrong infrastrtcure security experienceExcellent knowledge of CI / CD and associated release strategies is essential.Experience 2 or more of the following : Python experience Jenkins experience Knowledge on IBM Z Development and Test Environment ( ZD&T).
