Key Responsibilities
Supervise pupils in the classroom, ensuring they remain on task with work set by the absent teacher.
Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies, promoting a safe and positive learning atmosphere.
Respond to pupils' questions and provide general assistance where appropriate, without actively teaching the lesson content.
Report back to teaching staff on pupil progress, behaviour, and any issues arising during cover lessons.
Support the school with additional tasks during non-cover periods, which may include :
Administrative support
Exam invigilation
Supporting small group work or individual pupils under teacher direction
Assisting with break and lunchtime duties

Essential
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to manage groups of pupils effectively and maintain discipline
Adaptability and confidence in supervising across a range of subjects and year groups
Good organisational skills and the ability to follow instructions
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of pupilsDesirable
Previous experience working with young people, ideally within a school environment
Knowledge of classroom management strategies
ICT competency for supporting learning and administration
A relevant qualification (e.g., Level 3 Teaching Assistant, Degree, or equivalent experience)...
