Our Quality Engineering team enables our technology function by enhancing capabilities, fostering continuous learning, and embedding quality throughout the delivery lifecycle. We’re looking for a Performance Engineering Capability Lead —a high-impact leadership role to shape the strategy, lead the vision, and drive performance assurance across our tech landscape. You will define how we validate system performance early, test efficiently, and focus assurance where it matters most, working across delivery teams to integrate effective tools, set performance baselines, and ensure alignment with engineering standards and the SDLC.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Own the performance engineering capability—build a clear roadmap, develop best practices, and lead a team of specialists.
• Consult with delivery teams, manage tools and resources, and ensure performance testing is accessible, scalable, and cost-effective.
• Oversee supplier relationships, budget management, and team development.
• Provide visibility, innovation, and education to performance testing across Specsavers to deliver high-quality outcomes at sustainable speed.
