A leading organisation within the FMCG sector is seeking a qualified and experienced Mechanical Engineer to join its high-performing engineering team. This is a permanent, full-time position working a LEN shift rotation, offering a competitive salary of £56,000 and a comprehensive benefits package.
Role Overview
Reporting to the Engineering Team Leader, the Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for maintaining and optimising key manufacturing equipment, ensuring operational reliability, and contributing to continuous improvement across the site. The successful candidate will have a strong background in mechanical maintenance and fault-finding, ideally gained in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and respond to breakdowns in a timely and efficient manner
Diagnose and repair mechanical faults on a wide range of production equipment
Support the delivery of engineering projects and improvement initiatives
Ensure all maintenance activities are completed in line with health, safety, and compliance standards
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive efficiency and reduce downtime
Maintain accurate records of maintenance work using CMMS systems
