Responsibilities
- Oversee the front of house staff during breakfast service.
- Show flexibility and adaptability in working both breakfast, lunch and lounge shifts.
- Set up the restaurant before breakfast service according to the table plan.
- Open tables on EPOS ahead of breakfast service, recording any allergies or requests.
- Understand the menu and any amendments that need to be made for allergens.
- Process food orders and payments on EPOS.
- Take drinks orders and process them on EPOS.
- Process vouchers on EPOS.
- Charge bills to guest’s rooms accurately.
- Seat guests confidently in the restaurant and explain the menu.
- Read guests confidently and understand the tableside manner they may be expecting.
- Ensure guest satisfaction by addressing any concerns or special requests promptly.
- Upsell menu items to enhance guest experience.
- Prepare tea and coffee to guest’s requirements.
- Serve dishes to the guests confidently using the correct explanation from the kitchen.
- Call away dishes to the kitchen in an efficient manner.
- Clear tables with elegance.
- Communicate guest issues with the management team and the kitchen.
- Report and action guest feedback within the designated procedures and time allocation.
- Understand safety procedures and follow them to ensure guests and colleagues are kept safe.
- Represent the restaurant in a positive manner while on hotel grounds, communicating the restaurant's vision to all team members and leading by example.
- Communicate clearly with guests to manage their expectations and never mislead.
- Build and maintain relationships with guests, team members, and fellow and / or senior management.
- Utilise hospitality skills to provide exceptional guest services and proactively instill these skills in the wider team.
- Set a good example for the Waiters.
- Have a good understanding of food hygiene and the role it plays in every part of the restaurant.
- Support the management team in the smooth running of the restaurant.
- Contribute to guest profiles for returning guests.
- Handle shift handovers.
Qualifications
Food hygiene qualification is essential (or at least willingness to undertake in a timely manner).Previous experience in waiting on roles, ideally within a hotel dining service.Previous experience in a supervisory role.Excellent organisational and time management skills to support restaurant operations effectively.Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality service.Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.Ability to work efficiently in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays as per the demands of the establishment.Can act as a First Aid Aider or Fire Warden in the event of an accident or emergency.Details
Salary : £27,560
Gratuities are allocated on a points basis, depending on development tiers. Although variable, average levels are projected as being from £550 per month.
