7.5 TONNE DRIVER

WORKING 5 DAYS OUT OF 7 (ROTA PROVIDED)

START TIMES FROM 4AM

13.50 - £25.00

People Solutions are currently recruiting for a 7.5 Tonne Driver to join our well-established client based in the Wednesbury area.

Rates of Pay

  • Basic : £13.50
  • Overtime after 8 hours : £18.75
  • Saturday : £18.75
  • Sunday : £25.00
  • Bank Holiday : £25.00

    • Day to Day Duties

    Your duties as a 7.5 Tonne Driver will involve but not be limited to :

  • Delivering most building materials and home interior improvements products (not bathrooms and kitchens)
  • Operate and drive various 7.5 tonne vehicles in a safe and efficient manner to and from delivery locations
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
  • Ensure all cargo is loaded and secured properly
  • Adhere to traffic laws and regulations
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers
  • Report any vehicle defects or maintenance needs to management
  • Assist with loaded and unloading of cargo as needed

    • Essential Skills

    As a 7.5 Tonne Driver you will need to :

  • Be able to work as part of a team
  • Have a minimum of 24 months continuous experience driving Category C1 vehicles
  • Have no more than six penalty points for minor infringements and no major endorsement codes
  • Be able to use PDA (personal digital assistant)
  • Hold a valid UK Category C1 Licence and a valid UK CPC Card and UK Digi Card
  • Be able to speak and read a good level of English
  • Have excellent punctuality and time keeping skills
  • Have a good understanding of traffic laws and regulations
  • Have effective communication skills

    • Desirable Experience

  • Experience driving any commercial vehicles would be beneficial
  • Previous experience in with multi drop deliveries will be beneficial

    • Training

  • Six-hour online training must be completed before attending assessment
  • Driver's Assessment will have to be completed
  • After successful Assessment, there will be an on-job training
  • Industry related training and ongoing support throughout
