Job Title : Technical Director - Water Services
Binnies, an RSK Group company is recruiting a Technical Director for our Water Services Major Projects Business Unit.within our Water Services Major Projects team, working on high-profile schemes like Thames Water’s SESRO and Anglian Water’s reservoir projects. You’ll act as a Technical Authority, guiding multi-disciplinary teams and ensuring quality, timely outputs.
Operating as an engineering Technical Authority, you should have a strong technical base and have good experience in the appraisal and design of water industry schemes. The primary purpose of the role is to lead and co-ordinate design within a multi-disciplinary engineering team. You would also support our team’s growth by managing and encouraging the development of our engineers and Engineering Managers. Successful applicants will be able to work flexibly from one of our offices. The ability to travel to Client and Binnies offices is essential.
The role is suitable for an experienced Chartered Engineer. You should be able to demonstrate leadership and the technical knowledge and experience to guide engineering teams.
Responsibilities
- Coordination of design outputs across all technical disciplines.
- Delivery of the design stage outputs of each project within the agreed timescale and budget.
- Ensuring that an adequate Technical, Safety, Environmental and Sustainability review is carried out for each project.
- Agreement of the design cost budget and monitoring performance against the budget and providing forecast costs to completion for individual projects.
- Recording, monitoring and controlling design changes in order to maximise cost efficiency.
- Establishing working relationships with client staff and supply chain representatives to promote buildability and supply chain efficiency in design outputs.
- Contributing to ensuring a safe working environment for all staff.
Commercial Acumen
Mentor members of the engineering team in managing budgets, efficient delivery, recognising scope change, managing project risks and implementing mitigation measures.Experienced in building up costs for production of engineering deliverables, predominantly under the NEC suite of contracts.Continuous Improvement in Project Execution
