Second Chef - Bank - Care Home

This is a temporary position as a Second Chef at a care home operated by Barchester Healthcare, one of the UK's leading healthcare providers. The role involves assisting the Head Chef in creating nutritious, flavorsome, and well-balanced menus for the residents, while working to maintain hotel / restaurant standards. The position offers a good work-life balance with regular working hours and weekends off.

Main duties of the job

As a Second Chef at Barchester, you will have the opportunity to work with fresh, seasonal ingredients and deliver high-quality, wholesome dishes. You will assist the Head Chef in menu development and managing the kitchen in their absence. The role also involves leading and motivating a team, working within budget, and completing regular audits. Qualifications

• You will need to hold a City & Guilds / NVQ / SVQ or equivalent qualification, and have experience in helping lead and inspire a team. A good understanding of nutrition and experience of working with fresh, seasonal food are also required. You should have a personable and warm approach, with a genuine interest in the wellbeing of the residents.
