The Role

IGV (Its gone Viral) are seeking a Content Editor with experience as a journalist or reporter who thrives in a fast-paced newsroom environment. The successful candidate will have in-depth knowledge of media law and a strong track record of delivering a wide range of trending entertainment or lifestyle stories at a national or regional title while understanding what works for a digital audience.

You should have first-rate writing subbing and editing skills and relish the test of working under pressure and to tight deadlines. Youre social media savvy with current SEO knowledge and youre familiar with newsroom analytics and content management systems such as Wordpress. Youre flexible passionate and know what makes a great story!

Key Responsibilities

• Write original trending and evergreen articles for the IGV website including packaging content with engaging headlines captions and thumbnails.
• Pitch unique story ideas conduct interviews and proactively monitor emerging news gossip and trends.
• Identify compelling stories for the audience with a focus on creativity and original storytelling.
• Manage and schedule content across multiple social media platforms including Facebook Instagram X Pinterest and Threads.
• Edit and proofread content for accuracy grammar and style while contributing innovative ideas to enhance team output.
