About the Role
One of my local government clients is seeking an experienced and proactive Housing Advice / Homelessness Assessment Officer to join its Housing Options Service. This is a fast-paced and challenging role, ideal for professionals who thrive under pressure and are committed to preventing homelessness and supporting vulnerable residents.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver frontline housing advice and homelessness prevention services.
- Complete comprehensive housing assessments under Part VII of the Housing Act 1996 and the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017.
- Undertake prevention and relief casework, with a focus on sustainable housing solutions.
- Manage a varied caseload effectively, meeting statutory deadlines.
- Carry out detailed homelessness enquiries and issue Section 184 decision letters.
- Contribute to the Housing Options Duty Service as part of a rota.
Essential Requirements
Strong working knowledge of homelessness legislation, including the Housing Act 1996 and the Homelessness Reduction Act.Proven experience working in a Housing Options or Homelessness Prevention role within a local authority setting.Competence in completing assessments, managing cases, and issuing legal decisions.Ability to manage competing priorities in a high-demand environment.Excellent communication, report writing, and IT skills.A commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes for vulnerable residents.If interested in this role please send your CV to Lee-Jaun at Coyle Personnel Ltd
