Position Summary :

Carboline is seeking a Senior Intumescent Chemist for the Research and Development department joining our team. We are seeking candidates with experience in instumescent or passive fire proofing paints / coatings. This position will report to the Fireproofing Research Director.

The ideal candidate will be located in Coventry, UK or open to reallocate to the Midlands. Other potential locations considered on a case by case basis.

Key Responsibilities :

• Prepare project requests or research proposals on assigned projects.
• Create ideas and develop new intumescent products and conduct investigations. Apply creative approach to problem solving and formulation.
• Execute laboratory projects and continuously assess effectiveness.Develop research findings, draw conclusions, and make recommendations. Prepare and present written or oral reports.
• Contribute to research programs of others through communications and participation in technical work groups and design teams.
• Responsible for meeting project goals within time, quality and budget constraints.Utilize initiative to keep projects on track.
• Coordinate work of others, anticipate, and resolve priority conflicts.
• Acquire and maintain technical expertise in passive fire protection industry and its technologies.
• Communicate and verify technical information directly to various departments, suppliers or customers.
• Colloborate with RPM sister companies on R&D projects.
• Committed to the Company’s safety and quality programs.
