Job Title : SEND Specialist Support

Location : Standish

Hours : Monday to Friday, 12 : 00pm – 3 : 00pm

Start Date : ASAP

Setting : Mainstream School

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated SEND Specialist Support professional to join a mainstream school in the Standish area on a part-time basis.

This role involves providing targeted support to children with complex needs and disabilities, including pupils who are non-verbal and those who may present challenging behaviour. The successful candidate will be confident in using effective strategies to de-escalate behaviour and support emotional regulation, while promoting a safe and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities :

• Provide 1 : 1 or small group support to pupils with complex SEND
• Support non-verbal pupils using appropriate communication strategies (e.g. visual supports, PECS, AAC)
• De-escalate and manage challenging behaviour using positive behaviour approaches
• Work closely with class teachers, SENDCOs, and external professionals
• Support pupils’ social, emotional, and behavioural needs during the school day
