The role
If you are a well-qualified teacher, a skilled graduate, or an early career educator looking to gain key skills and experience, South Hampstead High School has an exciting opportunity for you within our thriving Design and Engineering department.
As a Teacher of Design & Technology, you will deliver engaging DT lessons to highly motivated and talented pupils from Year 7 to Year 13, equipping them with the skills, experience, and knowledge to solve problems and craft innovative solutions.
We are seeking a highly motivated and well-qualified individual with strong practical and technical skills. Health and Safety certification in Design and Technology is desirable, although training can be provided for the right candidate. The Design & Technology Department
The department is situated in a modern, purpose-built school, with a workstation for each teacher. The multi-use studio is fully computerised with widescreen PCs, an interactive whiteboard and an A2 laser cutter. This room also houses three 3D printers as well as a small-scale manufacturing area.
The Textile studio, shared with the art department, contains a Digital Rowland Cutter, a sublimation printer, and a heat press. Finally, the DE workshop is used mainly for 3D practical assignments using wood, plastics, and limited metal work. It comprises a general work area with machinery and workbenches, a studio area for designing and an additional laser cutter.
