Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented VAT specialist to join a market-leading Indirect Tax Transactions team at Manager level. This group supports high-profile UK and international deals, advising on VAT implications across acquisitions, disposals, refinancing, IPOs, carve-outs, and supply chain restructurings.

The role offers variety, technical challenge, and the opportunity to gain exposure to some of the most significant and complex transactions in the market, all within a supportive team environment.

The Opportunity

  • Advise companies, lenders, and investors on the VAT impact of complex transactions including carve-outs, mergers, and demergers
  • Support client engagements by preparing VAT reports, transaction support documentation, and guidance on compliance with tax authority requirements
  • Liaise with HMRC on technical and compliance queries
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to respond to VAT queries and spot opportunities to add value
  • Build strong relationships with clients and contribute to business development initiatives
  • Take responsibility for coaching and mentoring junior colleagues, helping to strengthen the team's technical capability

About You

  • ACA, ACCA or CTA qualified (or equivalent international qualification)
  • Strong technical knowledge of UK VAT, ideally with some exposure to transactional or restructuring work
  • Excellent project management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Effective communicator who can build rapport with clients and colleagues
  • Collaborative approach, with a commitment to personal development and supporting the growth of others
