Job summary

We are looking for an experienced developer to join our team as Senior Informatics Developer. The role involves both data warehouse and web development and ideally you will have strong professional experience in both. We do however welcome applications from candidates with expertise in one area and an interest in the other.

The data warehouse side of the role will be contributing to the development of the next phase of our established data warehouse. This will include refining and improving existing data warehouse elements, as well as integrating brand new data sources. The web development side of the role involves maintenance and support of numerous in-house developments that support clinical delivery across the Trust, as well as full-stack development of new systems through the entire development cycle.

This is an exciting opportunity to apply your skills and knowledge to shape the future of the Trust's data environment as we work towards implementing a new EPR system.

Main duties of the job

  • Planning, designing and delivering expansions to the existing data warehouse to incorporate new data sources
  • Monitor and maintain existing data warehouse infrastructure to ensure continuous and reliable information systems availability
  • Maintain and support existing web applications
  • Develop new web applications, working with clinical and other colleagues across the Trust

The post-holder will have the opportunity to work closely with, and develop a good knowledge and understanding of, an interesting range of NHS services, for example :

  • Maternity
  • Gynaecology
  • Theatres and Surgery
  • Medicine
  • Emergency Department
  • Mental Health

Forward Thinking Birmingham (FTB) Mental Health Services are a unique, innovative community and inpatient mental health partnership. Alongside partners FTB offers care pathways of mental health assessment and treatment for young people aged 0-25 years old.
