We are seeking 2 clinically confident and experienced optometrist to join our central telemedicine team. This is a pivotal role within our organisation, delivering high-quality remote care and supporting urgent eye health services across the NHS. As a clinical contributor, you will play an essential part in shaping patient outcomes through expert decision-making, compassionate care, and collaborative service improvement in a fast-paced, digitally enabled environment.

Primary Eyecare Services is the largest not-for-profit leading provider of NHS primary and community eye care services in England. Established over a decade ago in the North West, we now operate nationally, delivering enhanced eye care through a network of over 3,000 optometry practices. We work with NHS commissioners and Trusts to provide accessible, high-quality eye care services in local communities, supported by teams with expertise in NHS contracting, patient support, referral triaging, and telemedicine.
Role Overview :
Primary Eyecare Services is seeking highly skilled, experienced, and clinically focused optometrists to join its central telemedicine clinical team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced healthcare environment, where high-pressure situations require strong clinical expertise, sound decision-making, and the ability to provide exceptional patient care.
As a key member of the clinical team, the telemedicine optometrist will be responsible for delivering high-quality care, ensuring accurate assessment and management of a wide range of ocular conditions. The role requires a commitment to maintaining clinical excellence, adhering to best practices, and working collaboratively to enhance patient outcomes.
This position is ideal for an optometrist who thrives in a challenging yet rewarding environment and is passionate about delivering the highest standards of care to patients. The ability to remain composed under pressure, make informed clinical judgments, and provide a compassionate patient experience is essential.
Shift Pattern :
This is a part-time position, working 7.5 hours per day, with days required being Sundays and 1 day during the week with ad hoc Saturdays as needed. The hours for these shifts are set from 9am to 5 : 30pm. We also have option of only 1 day per week, working Sundays only.
The FTE salary for this role is £55,380 per annum and will be calculated pro rata accordingly, with Sunday shifts included in your contract and paid at 1.5x your usual rate.
Location :
This is a remote role, offering the flexibility to work from home anywhere within the UK. Unfortunately, applications from outside the UK cannot be considered.
