Materials Planner / Supply Chain Planner – Food Manufacturing

Location : Derby

Salary : £35000 plus benefits

We are delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a market-leading food manufacturing business, supplying branded and own-label products to all the major UK retailers. Due to continued growth, they are looking for an experienced Materials Planner to join their busy planning team.

The Role

As a Materials Planner, you will be responsible for ensuring the right raw materials and packaging are available to meet production schedules in a fast-paced FMCG environment. Using ERP / MRP systems, you will manage inventory levels, build supplier relationships, and help maintain a smooth production flow with minimal waste.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and schedule the supply of raw materials and packaging to meet daily and weekly production plans.
• Maintain accurate stock levels, balancing availability with cost-effective inventory management.
• Use ERP / MRP systems to monitor demand and material requirements.
• Work cross-functionally with procurement, production planning, and logistics to resolve any supply issues.
• Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure on-time delivery and service levels.
• Identify process improvements to drive efficiency, reduce waste, and support continuous improvement.
