Prison Nurse (RGN / RMN)

Prison Nurse - Agency Contract

Location : Liverpool

Rate : £30-£35 per hour (depending on shift type)

Contract : 6 months (with potential to extend)

Hours : Full-time or part-time considered (Early, Late, Long Day, and Night shifts available)

We’re currently recruiting experienced Registered Nurses (RGN / RMN) for agency work within a secure prison environment. This is a rewarding opportunity to provide essential care to individuals in custody, contributing to both their health and wider rehabilitation.

The role will involve :

Delivering day-to-day nursing care to a diverse inmate population

Supporting individuals with physical health needs, substance misuse issues, and mental health conditions

Administering medication and treatments in line with clinical protocols

Working closely with prison officers and multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe and effective care

Responding to medical emergencies within the prison setting

Requirements :

Valid NMC registration (RGN, RMN or dual-qualified)

Previous experience in a secure, forensic, or custodial environment (preferred but not essential)

Current prison clearance (CTC or enhanced DBS with prison vetting) is desirable

Strong clinical judgement and the ability to remain calm under pressure
