Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator (SENCO)

Location : Hackney, East London

Salary : £44,236 - £60,464 per annum (depending on experience)

Start Date : October 2025 (or January 2026)

Contract : Flexible - Full-time or Part-time available

An Outstanding Ofsted-rated, 2-form entry primary school in Hackney is seeking a qualified Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator (SENCO) to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced SENCO looking to work in a supportive, forward-thinking school environment.

About the role

Lead SEN provision across a vibrant, inclusive school community.

Flexible working pattern - full-time or part-time considered for the right candidate.

A balance of leadership responsibilities and some classroom teaching.

Collaborative SLT with a strong focus on professional development and staff wellbeing.

Responsibilities

Oversee all aspects of SEND across the school, ensuring statutory requirements are met.

Manage EHCPs, interventions, and provision mapping.

Support, advise, and coach teaching staff to deliver high-quality inclusive practice.

Build strong relationships with parents, carers, and external agencies.

Teach part-time within the school, maintaining a direct connection with classroom practice.

Candidate requirements

NASENCO qualification is essential.

Minimum of one year's experience as a SENCO in a mainstream school.
