Job description

Join to apply for the Advanced Practitioner role at Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust

We would like to present an exciting opportunity for a Band 7 Advanced Practitioner to join a dynamic and expanding team supporting people with symptoms of mild to moderate personality disorder across Northumberland and North Tyneside. This post is a full time permanent opportunity working within the H.O.P.E team; a psychology led service which has been co-developed alongside people with lived experience of mental health services. This post is suitable for registered Nurses, Social Workers or Occupational Therapists who must be registered with the NMC, HCPC or Social Work England.

Working hours are predominantly Mon-Fri 9-5 but you may be required to work flexibly to meet the needs of the service. Based in Blyth, the successful candidate will provide assessments and therapy (Dialectical Behaviour Therapy) through a combination of video calls and face-to-face appointments across community venues in Northumberland and North Tyneside. In addition to this, the successful candidate will be involved in providing specialist training and supervision to a variety of professionals working in primary care settings including GPs, primary care mental health workers and reception staff.

The main duties of the role involve providing one to one assessments, therapy, group intervention, triage, supervision, and training. You will receive regular supervision and the chance to engage in ongoing continuing professional development. You will work as part of an MDT, alongside a variety of other professionals including a family therapist and consultant clinical psychologist. The successful applicant will be enthusiastic and motivated to make a difference to the lives of people who struggle with emotional and relational problems, often underpinned by trauma.

The post requires that you are an excellent communicator, and have a flexible, adaptive and proactive approach. The role requires a large element of autonomous working and leadership skills and you must be able to demonstrate a strong commitment to the delivery of high quality, safe and effective care.

We aim to attract and retain a diverse, talented and committed workforce, who are caring and compassionate, and therefore able to meet the demands of the modern NHS now and in the future. In return we can offer a dynamic working environment in which to build a career.

If you would welcome the opportunity to become part of a warm, friendly and welcoming team with a great range of skills and experience then this could be the post for you. Here within the HOPE Team, there is a real sense of team spirit, and we are looking to add clinicians with this same positive outlook to our already excellent skill set. As part of this team, you will be encouraged to grow and develop in your role, and to contribute to the development of the service.
