Structural Draughtsman / woman

R M Gibbons Fabrication Ltd based in rural West Lancashire and who manufacture and erect steel portal frame buildings are looking to employ a skilled Drafter to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating detailed technical drawings and schematics that will assist in the design and construction of various projects. This role requires a strong understanding of design principles and proficiency in industry-standard software. The Drafter will collaborate closely with customers to ensure that all designs meet project specifications and standards.

Responsibilities

Develop detailed schematics and technical drawings based on project specifications.

Utilise software such as Tekla / Auto CAD models to create accurate designs for production of preliminary materials lists, fabrications and fitting drawings.

In addition to this, the right candidate will be adept in producing modular volumetric designs

Ensure that all models and drawings are delivered in line with project fabrication programme.

Check your own work to ensure all modelling and drawings are produced to the highest of standards and quality

Attend Site Surveys

Maintain organised records of all drafts and revisions.

Qualifications

Proficiency in design software including Tekla is essential.

Strong understanding of building design principles and system design.

Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work.

Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated.

Strong communication skills to effectively convey ideas and concepts.

Previous experience in a drafting role is preferred but not mandatory.
