Newport Dialysis Unit is a dynamic 30 station unit providing haemodialysis treatment for 110 patients in partnership with the NHS Trust. The unit operates safe staffing with a protected 3 : 1 patient to nurse ratio.

Whether you’re a newly qualified nurse, have no prior dialysis experience or returning to practice we offer a fantastic Preceptorship Programme which is designed to help you transition smoothly and excel in your career. Training is provided on a supernumerary basis by an allocated unit mentor(s), which is supported by the Practice Development Nurse team with regular on-site meetings.

Your main responsibilities will be :
To develop and expand theoretical knowledge and practical skills involved in the care of a dialysis patientTo demonstrate competent and efficient patient assessment care needs, coordinating with the unit link role resources and multidisciplinary team, to ensure patients receive their optimum careTo demonstrate a proactive mentorship approach to the team, acting as a resource in the unit team, empowering patients, qualified nurses, ancillary staff and student nurses to share knowledge and skills.To promote and maintain professional relationships with both patients and Trust staff to enhance the business excellence and partnership with B Braun Avitum UK LtdTo work within the Avitum Policies and Procedures and adhere to the Quality Manual and Environmental, Health and Safety GuidelinesWhat you’ll need to succeed :
Qualified nurse with current NMC registrationDedicated to providing exceptional patient careCommitted and eager to learn new skillsAn excellent communicatorAbility to work independently and as part of a teamAptitude for acquiring clinical skill techniquesFlexible to cover the needs of the patients / unitPlease note, salary will be dependent on previous dialysis experience or experience working in acute care.Hours of work :
Full time role working 37.5 hours per week3 x 11 . 5 hour shifts per week plus an additional top up shift every monthLong Day = 07 : 00 – 18 : 30Monday to Saturday on a rota’d shift systemNo Sunday workingNo night shiftsWe expect staff to work flexibly and work shifts depending on the need of the businessIn return we will provide the following benefits :
