Role : Machine Operator

Location : Newport

Salary : £12.50 per hour

Full time : Mon – Thurs 08.00 – 16.30 Fri 07.00 – 12.00

Job Description :

To set up & operate production machines / equipment / processes in a safe, efficient & effective manner with Engineering support. Ensuring the product produced is to the set quality standard & manufactured at the set production rate.

Essential Job Functions / Responsibilities :

• Run a range of production machines / processes to produce products to the quality standards required & achieve out-put standards set
• Apply best practice standards in all areas of H&S, quality produced, standard operating procedures (SOPs) & data recording
• Demonstrate good housekeeping
• Ensure PPE is maintained & used as prescribed
• Create & maintain accurate records relating to machine out-puts & downtime. Ensure all paperwork including start-up check sheets is completed daily
• Actively support Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) & all assigned (Total Preventative Maintenance (TPM) required
• Assist with Risk Assessments & all safety improvement activities
• Actively participate in all continuous improvement activities / initiatives & Kaisen events. Proactively identify & make recommendations for improvements
• Train other operators as required.
• Sharing experience, best practices, relaying all relevant knowledge & information with colleagues
• Carry out hand assembly work & general duties as required
• Any other duties as required by the Production Manager
