Design Manager : Role Purpose

Our client a regional contractor with a strong presence in the Merseyside area. You will be responsible for leading and coordinating the design process across all stages of project development, ensuring that design deliverables are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality. This role will involve close collaboration with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal project teams to deliver efficient, buildable, and compliant design solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage the design process from pre-construction through delivery.

Coordinate input from architects, consultants, and specialist designers to ensure design information is accurate and aligned with project requirements.

Ensure designs meet compliance standards, including UK Building Regulations, planning, fire safety, sustainability, and accessibility requirements.

Manage design risks, value engineering, and buildability reviews to optimise cost and programme outcomes.
