Interim Head of Finance – North West

Parkinson Lee Executive Search are recruiting an Interim Head of Finance on behalf of a large, complex public sector organisation in the North West of England. This interim appointment will cover a period of permanent recruitment, and the successful candidate must be available to start immediately.

Location : North West | 2 days per week on site

Day Rate / Package : £550-£650 per day Inside of IR35

The Role

Lead financial planning, reporting and analysis to support senior decision making

Maintain and develop the Medium-Term Financial Strategy

Oversee financial operations and ensure regulatory compliance

Provide leadership in public sector finance and embed best practice

Support transformation programmes with financial expertise

Contribute at senior leadership level to organisation-wide priorities

The Person

Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA - CIPFA or CCAB highly desirable) with senior-level experience in local government or a comparable public sector organisation

Proven track record in a Head of Finance role or equivalent

Skilled communicator able to translate complex financial data into clear insight

Immediate availability to take on a high-impact interim role

Strong, hands on leader with the ability to motivate and develop finance teams
