Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and confident Senior Care Assistant to support vulnerable adults and lead the care team during shifts. You will oversee care delivery support junior staff and ensure service users receive high-quality person-centred care.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and support care staff during shifts.
• Conduct spot checks supervision and mentoring of junior carers.
• Assist with personal care mobility medication administration and daily routines.
• Update care plans and ensure accurate record keeping.
• Communicate effectively with families healthcare professionals and management.
• Ensure compliance with safeguarding CQC standards and company policies.
• Handle emergencies and escalate concerns promptly.

Required Skills :

Person Specification Essential : Minimum 6 months of experience in a similar caretaking or facilities role Knowledge of Health & Safety and COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) procedures Ability to work independently follow instructions and manage daily tasks without supervision Good communication skills and a professional approach to duties Reliability punctuality and a strong work ethic Desirable : Previous experience working in a residential school or public-facing environment Basic maintenance or DIY skills Familiarity with safeguarding procedures (training can be provided)

Required Education :

Level 2 Diploma in Health & Social Care (or equivalent) or willingness to work towards this.
